Improvisations Technologie
mit Janyce Michellodis

Janyce.Michellod is concerned with guiding dancers towards a greater awareness of their back, as a means to improve one's control and expand one's dynamic qualities. She's paying great attention to articulares connections as a means to explore a relaxed tonicity in the body. By focusing on understanding the body's anatomical mecanisms and capacities, the dancer expands his physical possibilities, allowing his body greater freedom of movement.

The Class We start with a minimal work of the basic aspects of movement: To give the weight, to conect to the floor, to move in the space, to stand... Always with easy and slow exercises to give the time to work with body consciousness and get warm in the deep muscles, joins and skeleton. After that, using some material combinations and tools of improvisation, we explore the own potential to interpretate, use and created qualitys of movement. We don't focus in the form to give priority to the sensation in and out of the body.

MODERN TECHNIQUE CLASS (1.5-2 hours) -
The class will begin with a warm up that incorperates a series of stretches and movements designed to open the body, soften the joints and warm up the muscles and soft tissue, while moving with efficiency and ease. This will progress through stability, allignment and strength exercises that will bring awareness in to the structure of the body, and the activation and intergration of the body‘s muscular and skeletal systems. The class will then move onto a series of floor exercises that build awareness of organic body pathways to move the dancers into and out of the floor with fluidity, precision and ease of execution. The class culminates with jumping and travelling combinations that will draw upon elements that will have been present throughout the class.
