Technique and Improvisation Dance Classes – Body, Time and Space all along
mit Fabiana Capriotti

Body , time and space classes are both technique and IMPro classes where we warm-up, train and analyze from the beginning of the class the awareness of these three elements included in each body action . The class starts focusing into body awareness and body´s relationship with space, floor and concepts such as gravity and support; rolling and sliding . Then we zoom into the body anatomy (bones, joints , the spine, the hip joint, the pelvis , the shoulder girdle or the extremities), their function, connections and qualities to refine our movement capacities and improve our skills. Clarity, simplicity of movement, inhibition of habit will be our search.
We will also train deeply into perception of space and real time composition. Exploring, perceiving, and analyzing Space. Here and Not Here. And exploring , perceiving and analyzing Time. Real time in actions / movements. How long. When. The present and all the other possible time references coming out of the Now. Time of Perception. Sensations as Present.

Zeitgenössischer Tanz
mit Romain Guion

The class includes elements of Release/ Limon technique, Cunningham technique, Yogic philosophy, breath exercises and simple yoga practise.
The aim of combining these different elements is to focus on body/mind awareness, breath control and energy. Combining floor work and technical, dynamic combinations, all supported by the breath, the class works on the cardiovascular system and increases stamina. The focus is also placed on the anatomy of movement and physiology (for example connection head/sacrum) and on body in space.
Motto: Through a structured contemporary class, dancers are invited to find power, energy and quality of movements in relaxation.

Zeitgenössischer Tanz
mit Heidi Weiss

# Heidi Weiss teaches a dynamic Contemporary class which combines technical exercises with release, flowing sequences. Her training begins with basic yoga poses, focusing on breath and clarity. The warm- up continues with exercises that focus on creating length and volume in the body.
Particular attention is given to center (core), pelvis and feet placement/ articulation, as well as freedom and flexibility of torso and the back.
(curves, twists, spirals-)
The use of weight remains a central aspect of her style.Through the fusion of fluidity and groundedness, students are encouraged to take risks, testing both physical and spacial boundaries.

Rhythmic combinations, adage phrases and floorwork are all elements in her class. These more moving exercises aim to challenge the students ability to change timing, directions, and movement quality quickly.

As the class progresses, movement themes are expanded into spacial combinations.Emphasized is the ability to travel in the space- letting go of conventional forms while still applying technique.
Other class objectives include developing personal style of moving, picking up material quickly and establishing an awarness of focus.
Her class is structured, moving, challenging and FUN!!

Montag bis Freitag
13.-24. Juli 2009
jeweils 11.00-12.30 Uhr
Zeitgenössischer Tanz
mit Luis Lara Malvacías

TECHNICAL CLASS DESCRIPTION:
The class begins with a simple warm-up focusing on the breathing, internal structure, weight and the body's articulations. Directed exercises and suggested improvisations give the opportunity to each of the students to observe and experience their own particularity and range of mobility. As the class progresses we look to integrate the parts of the body and the use of the floor. A grounded, alert body will be prepared for a dynamic phrase material that involves focus on the details, dropping in and out of the floor and fast changes of direction and levels. The class sometimes ends with an individual manipulation of the provided phrase. This class is the result of personal investigations and is influenced by many years of study and work with Jeremy Nelson, Barbara Mahler and Susan Klein, and more recently Alexander Technique™ and BodyMind-Centering® .

27. Juli bis 14. August 2009
jeweils 11.00-12.30 Uhr
Zeitgenössischer Tanz
mit Jessica Jobaris

This class takes 3 right turns. By combining dance, yoga/bodywork, improvisation and theater, the class begins by centering the breath with movement, in a yoga influenced dance based warm up, which gradually moves into more physically challenging floor work/improvisation thru space, and is finally followed by explorations of dynamic phrase work. Committing to incorporating the emotionally expressive body, the aim is to refine articulate dancing while simultaneously nurturing individual freedom of artistic/intuitive choice-making. Consciously finding/using space as the supportive partner assists us in driving into states of physical and emotional authenticity. The movement style facilitates the coherence between structure and chaos; physically & emotionally. The aim is to relax while in motion, to get the thinking out of the way so surprising moments can take place.

Jessica Jobaris is a performer, choreographer, and teacher recently relocated to Berlin from Seattle WA, USA. She has performed with renowned Seattle companies Lingo dance theater (2007-2008), Scott/Powell Performance (2002-2007), Maureen Whiting Company (2000-2004), Bryon Carr Performance (NYC, 2001-2002).
