The class revolves around the concept of contemporary acrobatics - risk taking, tricking, breaking the form, implementing virtuosity, in a flow - and above all, being able to understand technique through physical experience, being kind to our body and at the same time pushing it, exploring the maximum but using the minimum necessary.
In the class we will learn and practice key elements in my research and way of moving today: going in and out, and moving efficiently on the floor. Jump, slide, spiral, gather, release will all become part of our common vocabulary. We will find ways to approach difficult movement with ease, with proper tools to make our energy soft and effective. We will play with different dynamics and qualities. We will learn tricks inspired by different practices of acrobatics and martial arts. Classes will go through active floor warm up, movement phrases, "trick" and maneuver learning, and body conditioning. The aim is to give technical tools, a new approach to movement, and methods of physical condition and preparation for high-level physical work.
