Jule Flierl

This class is a release-based dance training, which adds voice to the movements to create an awareness for breath, inner movements, their resonance in space and presence. We will breathe and hum into a warm up, explore movement principles of diaphragm, lung, torso and limbs through improvisation, and end up in a noisy dance combination. Spirals, an active spine, precise initiations and weight shifts will be the core of this class. A training for everyone who wants to playfully discover the fun to have an own voice within ones dance practise.

Jule Flierl has worked on interweaving contemporary dance and experimental singing for several years. Her approach has been influenced by release-technique, overtone-singing and method acting. Result of her research are the pieces “Happiness is a war...m gun” parts 1-3, which have toured throughout Europe. She graduated at SEAD-Salzburg, collaborated amongst others with composers Agustin-Castilla-Avilla (ES), Marios Joannou Elia (CY); and has worked with Stefan Dreher (D/BE), Inga Helfrich (RUS/D), Georg Hobmeier (A), Ehud Darash (ISR/D) a.o.
