Derrick Amanatidis
My contemporary class is heavily influenced by release technique, gathering momentum rather than forcing outcomes and also incorporates a lot of body sequencing. The objective of my class is to draw our attention to the little improvisation that is within every action and that each moment is a new experience. Thus, I create my phrase work to be challenging and encourage the participants to relinquish their idea of perfection and allow themselves to be within the moment with the possibility of allowing something new to occur.
