Efrat Stempler

Contemporary Dance Class

The training concentrates on the center work as the resource of all movement. The class starts with a repetitive warm up sequence consisting of yoga, articulations and breathing exercises. The main part of the class consists of exploration of the center of the body, balance and weight shifting in within different rhythms and dynamics. The way towards the floor and across the floor stands in focus. The movement is initiated from the anatomic point of view, while using images to enhance, and describe it. The class finishes with a longer sequence across the floor, which incorporates the materials gathered through the class and builds up through the week.
Based on a physical and intuitive exploration of movement, Efrat emphasizes in her class the movement in space and the diverse qualities of the moving Body.
