ABOUT THE WORK
The class starts out by tuning our self-perception with the help of the Alexander Technique. Experiencing the anatomy we find a strong connection to the natural spiral energies running through the body. Discovering deep states of awareness allows us to better understand the body mechanics.
We integrate technical dance practice with the personal creative potential through improvisations. The result will be a joyful and sensitive dance experience, feeling our body as an infinite source of gentle strength and powerful softness.
Valentina Bordenave is a freelance dancer, choreographer and since 1998, certified Alexander Technique teacher based in Berlin.
In her more than 20 years experience as a movement teacher, Valentina has been developing her own research with strong focus on the body support system, spatial / energetic awareness, intense physicality and utmost sensitivity.
She teaches regularly at LISPA London-Berlin International School of Performing Arts and at the Familie Flöz Summer Academy. Others pedagogical experiences include the Acting Departements at Universität der Künste (UDK) and at Ernst Busch University in Berlin.
Her last piece is „Detached“ with the Collective Anderplatz: www.anderplatz.net
