movement progressive

Movement Progressive is a unique collaboration by three accomplished professionals with strong individual perspectives who have come together for one common purpose... to give dancers the tools they need to realize their fullest potential.
Through artistry, science and time tested experience Steffi Arndt, Patrick Rump and Christopher Roman have developed an approach to movement that brings an awareness to the mechanics of dance freeing the artist to go beyond perceived limitations.
Patrick Rump is a sports scientist whose expertise lies in the awakening of anatomical trains and connections in the body and has developed a huge lexicon of ways to strengthen and support a dancer's extreme and individual physicality. He currently trains The Forsythe Company on a full time basis and is a consultant to a number of other esteemed organizations. Patrick also holds a black belt in karate and is on the German National Team.
Stephanie Arndt, a former dancer and now sought after ballet mistress and teacher, focuses mainly on classical ballet technique within this trio. Her specific and detailed attention to epaulement and a spiral dynamic create a total integration of the movement of the body in a classical framework, the emphasis and importance of which has diminished in recent years. Steffi is a former principal dancer of John Neumeir's Hamburg Ballet and William Forsythe's Ballett Frankfurt. She continues to work for Mr. Forsythe setting his works worldwide as well as the works of David Dawson and Jacopo Godani and is a guest teacher for The Semperoper Dresden, The Forsythe Company, Netherlands Dance Theater and many others.
Christopher Roman's contribution to this trio comes from an improvisational point of view sharing techniques, approaches and modalities that support the dancer in making decisions quickly, precisely and easily in a high pressure performance environment. Christopher is a dancer, teacher and choreographer who is a current member of The Forsythe Company. He has been a member of The Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Miami City Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, The Pennsylvania Ballet and the Ballet Frankfurt. He is also a ballet master for the works of William Forsythe and recipient of Der Faust Preis 2009.
These three come together in pursuit of a total physical and artistic experience fusing together three distinct disciplines that will help to prepare each dancer to perform as if it were second nature giving them the support they need to be the fullest artistic expression of themselves and assets to the dance community.
