Donki Queendom
Donki Queendom ist ein Reich der Geschichten und das Zuhause zweier Superhelden, Don Quixote und Sancho Pansa. Ihre Mission ist es, die Person zu finden, die sich „ich“ nennt, eine Identitätssuche inner- und außerhalb gesellschaftlicher Normen und mit der Sehnsucht nach Heldentum im Alltag. Das internationale Gnab Collective aus Finnland lädt zu einer öffentlichen Probe von Donki Queendom ein, schließt einen zweiwöchigen Workshop ab und sucht in der Begegnung mit dem Publikum in einer Feedbackdiskussion Impulse für die letzte Arbeitsphase vor der Premiere in Tampere in Finnland.

Gnab Collective has arrived in Berlin and is making Donki Queendom a place on earth at Eden*****
Donki Queendom is a land of stories, the home of two heroes, Don Quixote and Sancho Pansa. They're on a quest to find the person I call "me". Their journey takes them from a little Spanish Square to the shady darkness of a forest. Their quest seems as impossible as their dreams and the only support they get is from two thrones from which they exercise their fake power. It takes them a while to realise that they don't need superpowers to be the heroes of their own lives...
We have developed Donki Queendom over the past year in several rehearsal periods and demo performances. The piece will premiere in Tampere at the end of August 2011. Before that, without set or props, with just a handful of costumes, we're focusing on movement and words... and we're inviting you to share a moment with us in our queendom...
The demo performance on 7.7. at 7pm will mark the end of a two-week workshop at Dock11/Eden***** and the final rehearsal period before the premiere. You're cordially invited to watch, listen, discuss, question or simply meet us...
Open your eyes, open your ears, open your minds, for this is Donki Queendom.
